Smart Reader (SR10) Smart Reader (SR10) is the first standard RFID reader with keyboard output that makes the integration of RFID with your existing user interface as simple as barcode technology. Smart reader is the perfect choice for enabling browser based applications to read RFID tags without compromising security. Smart Reader is an operating system agnostic device that works exactly the same way on PC as it does on Mac or UNIX machines. Smart reader is powered by USB port and doesn’t need any external power supply which means less cluttering wires and power adaptors on you working area. Application of Smart Reader in Libraries: Smart Reader is the perfect choice for migrating check-in and check-out stations to RFID technology. Single book or multiple books can be placed on the antenna. The number of the books available for checking in or checking out will be displayed on the reader’s display. When you are ready to process the books, you just need to press a key on your keyboard and receive the RFID tags’ data on the active ILS screen. Smart Reader comes with 4 buttons: You can press associated button to switch between check-in and check-out modes. Pressing a button automatically sends a command (function key) to the ILS software to switch to appropriate mode. All major ILS systems intercept function keys as a command to switch between check-in and check-out screens. Programming tags with Smart Reader: Progarmming mode is also available on Bluetooth Smart Reader (SR10-B). Bluetooth technology allows wireless Integragtion with Bluetooth handheld (Blade Reader): Bluetooth Smart Reader (SR10-B) can be used as a base station for Blade Reader (BR10-A). This configuration allows a seamless integration of wireless RFID check-in and check-out stations in libraries.
