HF Tag programming Station
Tagging and encoding tags in a library could be
very time consuming and prone to many errors that can be easily
eliminated by using the Multiport Companion. The ideal programming
station for a library is a device that works independently without
the support of a computer. Stand alone programming stations reduce
the overall cost of tagging by increasing the speed of programming
pre-attached tags and giving the librarians the flexibility and
portability they need.
Authentication
Multiport Companion duality of barcode and RFID
made this device a prime candidate for drug pedigree application
today. Multiport Companion enables drug pedigree solution providers
to work with RFID without worrying about different RFID protocols,
tag encodings and frequency standards.
Drug pedigree solution providers just simply plug
the Muliport Companion in, scan the package and use the data to
check the authentication.

Check in station
RFID tags are dynamic media for storing data and
could be used to eliminate the need for legacy EAS tags. Therefore
when a book returns to the library you have to activate the EAS
bit of the RFID tag and also update the library system information.
Another important point in implementing an RFID
enabled library is that always there are considerable number of
books that are on the loan thus using both RFID and barcode is
necessary.
Multiport Companion gives you
both duality of barcode and RFID as well as EAS bit deactivation
in one package. The nice thing about using Multiport Companion
is that you do not need to change any of your software. Simply
use the barcode reader attached to Multiport Companion to read
the books with barcodes or use the built in antenna to scan the
books with RFID tags and Multiport Companion automatically activate
the security bit of the RFID tag.
Check out Station
At checkout station you need
to deactive the EAS bit and update the library information system
and Multiport Companion gives you both duality of barcode and
RFID as well as EAS bit deactivation in one package.
